Don Damsteegt, Ph.D.


Dr. Damsteegt is the owner of Family Psychology Associates, P.C. and is a Licensed Psychologist and a Health Service Provider in Psychology.

Dr. Damsteegt is a Licensed Psychologist (Ph.D.) and a Health Service Provider in Psychology. He has been in practice since 1983, including a year of post-doctoral residency in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. His specialties include assessment and treatment of individuals and couples. He has been trained Cognitive Therapy, which is an empirically validated treatment for many disorders, including depression and anxiety. He also is a certified Imago Relationship Therapist. He does assessment of personality, intelligence, ADHD and substance abuse, including being a DOT-SAP. He holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Nebraska in 1981.

Camille Marie, MA

Camille graduated from Cornell College with degrees in Psychology and Kinesiology. She went on to attend graduate school at Vanderbilt University and the University of Northern Iowa, earning her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She has an extensive background in psychological testing and evaluations, working several years at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics performing assessments with inpatient and outpatient children, adolescents, student athletes, and adults. While there, she was also the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Coordinator. In addition, she has experience working with families of behaviorally challenged children, completing an internship through UnityPoint’s Teaching Interventions to Empower & Strengthen Families (TIES) program. She is currently pursuing licensure for mental health counseling.

Leonarda Decker picture

Leonarda Decker, MA, LMHC, CADC

Leonarda Decker is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC). Leonarda received her Master’s degree in Counseling, Rehabilitation and Student Development from the University of Iowa. She has been working in the mental health and substance abuse field for the last ten years helping men and women to find their path to a healthier and more satisfying life. Leonarda’s passion is to assist people in the process of self-discovery and help them to reinvent themselves. She utilizes variety of counseling techniques including person-centered and existential approaches, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.

Treye Rosenberger, MA, LMHC-t, CRC, NCC


Treye graduated from The University of Iowa with a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. Additionally, Treye holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Relations. Currently, Treye continues his studies as a Doctoral Student at The University of Iowa in Counselor Education and Supervision. Treye specializes in assisting his clients who identify as LGBTQIA+ with exploration of gender variance, identity, expression, sexuality, the coming out process, managing identity with families/friends all while treating common issues such as depression and anxiety.

Treye has experience working with community agencies such as CommUnity Crisis Services and Food Bank and Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS). Treye completed his full-time internship at Kirkwood Community College providing mental health services to students.

Jessica Malecek pic

Jessica Malecek, MA, LMFT


Jessica has experience working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. She conducts play therapy and is currently pursuing a play therapy certification. She gained much of her outpatient and play therapy experience at the Olsen MFT Clinic. Jessica also has years of experience in inpatient settings such as Psychiatric Medical Institutions for Children (PMIC) and Residential Treatment (RT) working with the adolescent population. It was in these inpatient settings that Jessica learned and first utilized the trauma informed care model.

Jessica graduated from the University of Iowa with a major in Psychology and a minor in Human Relations. Jessica went on to Mount Mercy University to earn her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Jessica practices Satir’s Growth Model, Client-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Structural Therapy, Systems Theory, and Gottman Couples Therapy.

Bruce Gregory LMHC

Bruce Gregory, MA, LMHC


Bruce Gregory, MA, LMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has been in practice since 2006. He enjoys counseling for children aged 10+ including adolescents, adults and couples. Working in multiple settings ranging from Colorado prison to private practice and community mental health has given him a chance to work with a wide range of various life issues. Bruce specializes in trauma and utilizes EMDR, BST, Meridian Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in his therapy sessions.

Carla Hughes, MA, LMHC


Carla Hughes is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She received her MA degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa and has counseled students at the UNI counseling center. She went on to work with at-risk children at Four Oaks Residential Treatment Center in Cedar Rapids. Carla has been serving the community since 2004 and has worked extensively with children and adolescents using art and play therapies. Also of special interest to Carla is helping couples cope with relationship stressors by building communication skills and in working with individuals with eating disorders
